Do you like attending the IEEE ComSoc meetings each month? Do you like meeting new people and want to grow your personal network? Would you like to help ensure that these meetings continue and the chapter remain active?
If so, please consider volunteering for the Denver Chapter of your IEEE Communications Society. Volunteering for the chapter is lots of fun, a great way to meet people in the industry, learn new skills and consolidate your career.
Elections for officer positions are held each year. A list of each officer position followed by a short description is given below. If we have multiple volunteers for a position, we plan to hold an online election in December.
If you are interested, please email me (karthiks@ieee.org) a short statement of interest indicating the position you would like to volunteer for by Monday, Dec 7th 2009.

Chair person
·Leads the Denver ComSoc Chapter
·Sets goals and direction for the year
·Plans and executes monthly meetings
·Communicates with local chapter body
·Manages relationship with ComSoc HQ to co-ordinate activities
·Coordinates with Denver IEEE Executive Committee (ExCom)
·Attends ExCom Meetings
*Requires approximately 6-8 hours per month
Vice- Chair
·Organizes food and drinks for each meeting
·Coordinates membership development activities
·Plans and develops student/educational activities
·Represents the chapter at IEEE gatherings
*Requires approximately 4-5 hours per month
Secretary
·Serves as member point of contact
·Collects RSVPs for monthly meetings
·Coordinates logistics for the meeting
·Submits timely meeting reports to the IEEE
*Requires approximately 4 hours per month
Treasurer
·Keeps up-to-date Treasurer records and financial data
·Manages the Chapter bank account
·Ensures accuracy of all Chapter income and expenses
·Prepares the Annual Report with the Chair
·Contributes to Section financial report
*Requires approximately 2-3 hours per month
Webmaster
·Manages the Chapter website
·Posts new announcements and develops new web page content
·Works to increase online presence and value of the Chapter
